"Onsters in the air" is the newest illustration print design, for the Bebe and friends children's clothing & baby goodies line.

How cute will this print look on a toddlers hoodie or tee?

As explained in a earlier introduction, Onsters are little Monsters without the M and they live between the walls of our houses, where they have their very own Onster world.

They are the opposite of monsters, there's nothing scary about them....well unless they start screaming, when you scare them, they will scream at the top of their lungs, and believe me the sound coming out of their little mouths is so high and loud, that it might be a little frighting.

But other than that they are the cutest fluffiest creatures you will ever meet!

There's always something fun going on with the Onsters around, just like human toddlers, they are full of joy and energy.

In this print the little Onsters are taking a Balloon trip through the air.

This print also introduces Flinster, the purple Onster cousin of Onto, Coedy and little Dribby.

Bebe custom made canvas: Melissa and Nick "Home Sweet Home"

This custom made canvas was made for
Melissa Haynes, one of my best friends for over 10 years from the U.S.A, and Nick Manasse.
Melissa has recently moved to my home country The Netherlands to live with the love of her life; Nick.
For their intimate housewarming BBQ last weekend, I wanted to give them something special.
So I made them a custom made canvas board based on them and their new home and future together.
It's called; Melissa and Nick "Home Sweet Home"

On this canvas you see Melissa and Nick standing in front of their 'love nest', together with their two little doggies Taz and Chad. The American and Dutch flags are standing for, of course their nationalities, but also their backgrounds separately and their future together.
Melissa is wearing a key shaped necklace, one of the first gifts Nick gave her. The reason I painted the key is because it can also be a symbol for the key to his heart and the key to their new home.
Far up in the sky you see an air balloon with their names written on it, if you look closely you see little Bibi and Soupy in the balloon's basket. Of course these little two brats had to be in the canvas as well, since it's a Bebe custom made canvas :)

The friendship Melissa and I share, is like sisterhood.
Although we're not really blood relatives, we have grown like sisters do. We made up this nickname for what we are, years ago; Euromerican Sisters, which stands for European/American sisters but also when you say it fast, it sounds like "Ur my sister".

The funny and ironic thing about it is, that when I first moved to the States and met her, I never would've thought she would end up living here.
We met in high school, we're in the same cheer leading squad and lived in the same city, then when I moved back to Europe, we stayed in touch through phone and internet and I went back during the summer, to spend the summers with her at her parents house and later on at her own place.
Then in 2010 she came to visit me and my hubby Marlo for the summer and to be our maid of honor in our wedding, that's when she met Marlo's co worker/friend Nick and the two deeply fell in love...one year later she moved here and hubby and I are moving to the States around the end of 2012/start of 2013 through my hubby's job.
It's so ironic, but it doesn't matter where we are or what life brings, we will always be Euromerican sisters for life.

Marlo and I, are wishing both Melissa and Nick the best in their lives together and we hope all their dreams, goals and wishes for the future will come true and since their love story already kinda started off as a fairy tale, we hope they will live happily ever after just like fairy tale princes and princesses do

This painting was made on a flat canvas board of 24x30 cm

Bebe custom made canvas paintings are normally made on a standard format of 30x30 cm, because this format is currently hard to find, I've recently added the new size Large 30x40 cm as the new standard format (On request, I also make Bebe canvas paintings on a 3D format of 20x20 cm - small and 40x40 cm - extra large and flat canvas boards)

Bebe custom made canvas paintings are especially created for special events such as birthdays, newborns, anniversary's...You name it and I create it.
Bebe custom made's are unique lifetime gifts to give to family and friends.
All illustrations are unique, made with love and of high quality.
I use Decor Fun aqryl paint and Decor Fun highgloss varnish for all the paintings.
Every painting is finished with my signature.

This Bebe and friends clothing design, was custom made for my hubby Marlo for his birthday.
As I have mentioned in previous blogs, Bebe was actually based on Marlo and is a toddler version of him :)
Marlo loves funny designs and printed tee's and hoodies and he had been asking me for a custom made Bebe and friends design for ages, so I decided to surprise him with this "Bebe and friends Super Heroes" men's hoodie...and he loved it!

Last year, on July 3rd 2010, I got married to my hubby Marlo, who's so much more than just my husband and I am very thankful to have found someone who's has made me complete.
I wanted to give him something special, for our 1 year wedding anniversary, this past Sunday july 3rd 2011.
Since I designed our wedding invite last year and created a print based on him and me, in Bebe style, I thought it would be funny to create another design based on him and me again, and I had this design printed on a men's hoodie.

This anniversary themed hoodie, portraits us two in Bebe style and even our little doggie Mimzy is part of the design.

This little blue house is actually a little Birds house, but it totally would rock any little boy's room.

This "Boys club house" is a super cute decoration for a boys room and can be placed anywhere.
There's also a Girls club house version in this line.

Not too long ago, daddy made Bibi and Soupy and their little girl friends, a beautiful pink girls clubhouse in the backyard and since the girls made their clubhouse "a girls only" house to have little tea parties at and to have real girls talk at, Bebe and his friends of course also wanted to have their very own boys clubhouse.
Daddy helped the boys build the house and now there are two little clubhouses in the backyard.
A pink one for the girls and a blue one for the boys.
Bebe, Hank and their little Onster friends Ontero and Dribby, made the house into a really awesome boys hang out.
As you can see the little boys are still busy decorating and painting the house.
Ontero is busy painting the front door, while little Dribby is putting flowers in the planter and Bebe and Hank are working on a real name plate.

Bibi and Soupy of course noticed the busy boys working on their clubhouse from across the backyard and decided to take a look, do you see the two little brats sneaking up on them under the window?

This illustration print is specially designed for baby goodies.

There are a lot of newborn baby's in the Bebe and friends family lately, first little Sophie had the very exciting news of newborn cousin Timmy, to share with her friends and now Lizzy has a little baby girl cousin named Kylie.

Together with her friends Bebe, Hank, Bibi and Soupy, she's visiting her little baby girl cousin.

Isn't Kylie an adorable little girl? with her little freckles and her little bit of orange hair, she looks like a mini me of Lizzy.

Kylie is a very happy baby, she's even waving back at Bibi and is smiling at everyone.

She's a little princess in her cute silver and pink baby crib, don't you love the little heart design on the crib and the bed set?

This design is called "Super hero motor grandpa".

Bebe, Bibi and Soupy have a super cool grandpa and they think he's a motor cycle super hero.
Grandpa's favorite hobby is riding his motorcycle, he goes on a lot of trips and every time when he come back, he tells his grandkids all about his adventures.
Bebe and his sisters love their grandpa and his amazing adventure stories.
Grandpa also told them a big secret...his motor is actually a robot...and a very smart one.
When there's no one around it even talks to grandpa and they share jokes and laughs...and sometimes even a beer!
Bebe, Bibi and Soupy insist they get to meet with grandpa's motor robot and now they finally get to make a little trip! They are super excited.
First they want to have their picture taken with grandpa on the motor robot...and before they are actually taking off, they are all getting little helmets...because super hero grandpa and motor robot or not...safety comes first :)

"Super hero motor grandpa" is based on my father in law, who's a real motor fanatic.

As you have probably already noticed in previous canvas designs, the Bebe and friends kids really love some bath time fun! These little girls are champions in making the bathroom one big mess and after every bath adventure, they leave an actual ocean for mommy to clean up.

Bebe and Lizzy have known each other for a long time, not only are they classmates and do they live in the same neighborhood, they are also boyfriend and girlfriend.
They love each other very much!
In this illustration, you see the two little love birds sitting on a bench in the park.
Bebe surprised Lizzy with a heart shaped balloon, isn't that super sweet of him?
Woof Woof seems to be a little bit jealous of the two holding hands and is trying to climb on the bench for a little cuddling as well. Tjilpy is also keeping an eye on them.

Bibi and Soupy love princesses, fairytale, magic and with their huge imagination they are always making up stories and love to pretend they are living in a world full of magic.
Their old bed was starting to get a little too small for the two girls and so daddy promised them to make a new bed, he said it would be the perfect bed for his two little princesses.
The two little sisters went away for a week at their grandparents, the perfect opportunity for daddy to surprise his girls and so daddy worked all week on a real princess bed.
Bebe and Hank helped him putting the parts together and mommy helped them paint the princess bed.
When Bibi and Soupy came back from their little trip, daddy told them there was a big surprise waiting for them in their room, so they ran as fast as they could and saw...their very own princess bed!

Wow a real princess bed!!! It kinda looks like the princess wagon from Cinderella!
Bibi and Soupy are super proud of their new bed and because its still all new and oh so exciting, mommy is letting them staying up a little later tonight, so they can play in their princess bed. Mommy even made them princess crowns to go with their bed. Don't they look just like real princesses!?...including Woof Woof

A day later they wake up with an horrible cold, they have little red noses and snot is dripping everywhere! Oh no! time to clean up their little snotty noses.

After mommy cleaned up their noses, the kids are put back to bed.

House pets Woof Woof and Tjilpy are also feeling sick, luckily the poor kids and pets get to keep each other company since they are all sick together.

Hopefully they all feel better soon...but at least for now, they have their "Snotter box" for all those little snot noses.

This is a series of 10 canvas paintings of all the little friends going on a World tour, in the paintings they will show you their adventures in the country they are at.

This is the last painting of this series and so the Bebe and friends goes on World tour series 2009-2011, is finally completed and will be sold in the upcoming Bebe and friends web shop.

1. the beautiful Dutch windmill: a machine that is powered by the energy of the wind. It is designed to convert the energy into more useful forms using rotating blades or sails. In Holland windmills served originally to grind grain, though later applications included pumping water and, more recently, generation of electricty.

2. the real holland symbol: the clog or also known as the wooden shoe. The traditional all-wooden Dutch clogs have been a real famous feature of Holland. Despite the fact that most Dutch no longer wear clogs for everyday use, clogs remain popular by people working in their gardens, farms and by planters. Today, Dutch clogs are primarily a beloved tourist souvenir.
(Mommy made Bibi, Soupy and their little friends roller skate clogs. They are having a lot of fun with it and are rolling through the neighborhood, now they are trying their clogs out on the grass...oh no that might not been such a good idea! Soupy tripped!

Bebe goes on World Tour: Holland part 3

This new Holland themed Bebe and friends canvas is the latest addition to the "Bebe and friends goes on World tour series".

The America and Holland themes turned out to be very popular and all Holland themes were already sold, that's why I am adding some new Holland themed canvas paintings to this series.

Although Holland is the home country of the little friends, there is always something new to discover and something fun to do.

This Holland canvas was made on a 30x40 cm 3D canvas.

You'll see the following famous Holland features in the painting:

1. A cute Zaans house: Zaanstad is a municipality in Holland , in the province of North-Holland. Its main town is Zaandam. It is part of the metropolitan area of Amsterdam. Zaanstad is famous for it's beautiful old Holland scenery, such as windmills, canals, dikes but also the cute green houses named Zaanse houses.
(Just like Bebe and his family, Lizzy and her family also live in a old Zaans house. Isn't the house beautiful? Lizzy is waiting on the steps of her house, for her friends to come pick her up for a playdate.)

Bebe goes on World Tour: America 3

This new America painting is the latest canvas of the "Bebe goes on World Tour" series.
"The Bebe goes on World Tour" 2009 canvas series, was actually already completed but because several paintings of the series were already sold, I've decided to add a couple of new ones to make the series complete again for the upcoming web shop.
I've already created two America paintings for this series before, but this one is totally different from the other two.

This America canvas was made on a 30x40 cm 3D canvas.

In this painting Bebe and his little friends are visiting their favorite place in the world for the 3rd time: The United States of America.

The Last two times the little friends were visiting the Washington D.C and New York area, this time they are in California!
Of course I've added a couple of fun & famous aspects of the country to this canvas:
1. The Hollywood mountain: The Hollywood sign is a famous landmark in the Hollywood hills area of Mount Lee, Santa Monica Mountains, in Los Angeles, CA.
(our little pet friends Woof Woof and Tjilpy are posing on top of the famous letters )

2. The American symbol: the American Eagle
(Bertie was picked up for a private sky tour above Los Angeles, by this huge American Eagle)

3. Hollywood Walk of fame: a series of sidewalks along both sides of a 15-block segment of Hollywood Boulevard and a 3-block segment of Vine Street in Hollywood, that serves as a permanent public monument to achievement in the entertainment industry. The stars recognize an eclectic mix of actors, musicians, directors, producers, musical and theatrical groups, fictional characters and others for their entertainment contributions.
(Bebe is overwhelmed en beyond excitement when he discovers his very own "Bebe and friends" star on the Hollywood walk of fame! How awesome is that! look at the little paint brush in the star!)

4. The film industry: The U.S film industry has largely been based in and around Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA. The major film studios of Hollywood are the primary source of the most commercially successful movies in the world. Today, American film studios collectively generate several hundred movies every year.
(Little Lizzy is very proud to be a Hollywood director for the day, she has everything she needs, a real director chair, a clipboard and a horn so everyone can hear her loud and clear. All the little friends will be in her movie, called "Bebe and friends and The American Dream")

5. All American sports/activities: Cheer leading, Skateboarding, Surfing
(Bibi, Soupy and little Sophie are cheering for the U.S.A! They love cheer leading! The think it's so much fun and they love their super cute outfits too! Hank is surfing on the Californian waves, he does a pretty good job! Bebe is taking his skate board for a wide through Hollywood)

6. Disney's Minnie Mouse & the American Cheeseburger
(Pipi is dressed in a little Minnie Mouse outfit, that she just got, while visiting Disney Land in Anaheim, California. Doesn't she look cute in it!? She's also eating an American Cheeseburger, her fave!)

Bebe and friends canvas: girls on the swing - NEW VERSION

"Girls on the swing" is the newest painting and also the last painting of the "Bebe and friends" canvas series.
It's a beautiful summerday and the little sisters Bibi and Soupy are having lots fun on the swing in their grandparents backyard.
Their grandparents have a huge backyard surrounded by beautiful nature and a pretty lake.
Grandpa made a big swing, specially for his little girls.
Big brother Bebe was asked to watch the little girls, since you never know what the two sisters are up to...but instead of watching his sisters, Bebe fell asleep in the midsummer sun.
While Bebe is sleeping, a naughty little rabbit tries to steal his lemonade and Woof Woof is chasing another rabbit...at least the little girls are being good and are still sitting on the swing...for now

Bebe and friends canvas: Sea Lions at the Zoo

It's a sunny summer day and Bebe and his little sisters are treated to a fun day at the Zoo, of course as usual their pets Woof Woof and Tjilpy are joining them.
In the painting you see them visiting the Sea Lions, there are even two baby Sea Lions this summer! Aren't they super cute?
While the family has a lot of fun looking at these funny animals, they notice a very weird looking Sea lion in the water doing tricks with a ball on his nose...OH NO! It's not a Sea Lion, it's their dog Woof Woof.
Oooh silly Woof Woof come out of the water, you're not a Sea Lion!

Bebe custom made canvas: Maddie Magic Wings

Bebe and his two little sisters Bibi and Soupy are at the beach, all the sudden they see an 'Arkefly' airplane in the sky and a cute little lady who's hanging right under the plane holding an umbrella.

They are amazed by what they see, who's that funny lady in the sky? and then when they look closer, they see her suitcase has little wings...it must be magic!

and that's right! It's Maddie Magic Wings!!!

"Maddie Magic Wings" is a Bebe custom made that was ordered by a dear friend of mine named Madeleine.
She ordered this painting to hang in her new apartment and requested a painting based on her.
After her request I've started to brainstorm about how I could make the painting about her in a funny way.
She recently started her new job as stewardess for airline company 'Arkefly', with that in mind and her funny bubbly personality, I came up with an idea how to combine these two things.
In the painting you see an Arkefly airplane ánd Madeleine as Maddie Magic Wings (her own version of Mary Poppins)

This painting was made on a NEW 3D canvas format of 30x40 cm (size Large)

Bebe custom made canvas paintings are normally made on a standard format of 30x30 cm, because this format is currently hard to find, I've recently added the new size Large 30x40 cm as the new standard format (On request, I also make Bebe canvas paintings on a 3D format of 20x20 cm - small and 40x40 cm - extra large)

As for right now, I take orders and sell Bebe custom made's in the private sector, once the Bebe webshop has opened I accept a limited amount of custom made's per month through the web shop.

Here you see the boys edition of "Bath & Bubble fun", which is the 9th painting of the Bebe and friends canvas series.
This time it's Bebe, Hank, Onterto and little Dribby who are having lots of fun in the bathroom.
Although there are only 4 little boys, they are even making more of a mess for mommy to clean up, than the girls did. They are enjoying the water and bubbles to the fullest and are using the bathroom as a pool.
Hank even has his snorkel gear on and Dribby is walking around with his flippers.
Tjilpy and Woof Woof don't want to miss out on all the fun and are joining the boys for some more bath time fun!

Dear Bebe and Friends fans,

I've been busy setting up an official Bebe and friends web shop for a while now.
Creating a nice and successful online place to introduce the Bebe and friends artwork to the world, asks for lots of creativity, work, effort and time.I definitely do not want to rush things, because I want the Bebe and friends collection to stand out for its originality and quality.

Although the web shop is not finished yet and still needs a lot of work, things are slowly coming together and are starting to look really nice.

Introduction to the complete Bebe and Friends Family

The past few weeks I've been busy updating the entire Bebe and Friends Blog spot, I hope ya'll like the new illustrations and artwork so far and there's much more new Bebe and Friends artwork, designs, products and plans on it's way!

Bebe, the main character of "Bebe and Friends", was created in 2007.
I was inspired by my boyfriend (now husband) Marlo and created a toddler version based on him, that's how Bebe came to live. Soon after that Bebe's little sister Bibi, their adopted little sister Soupy and Bebe's best friend Hank joined, a little later Bebe's girlfriend Lizzy also came into the picture.

In 2008 the friends met Onterto, a little green Onster. Onsters are little Monsters without the M but instead of Monsters they are cute, petite creatures with a shy nature. They live between our walls, where they have their own Onster World. It's very rare for an Onster to show themselves to us, human beings...let alone befriend humans. Therefore Onterto and his family are an exception and are considered part of Bebe's family since 2008.
The amount of feathers on a Onster's head are showing you their age.

A year later, Bibi and Soupy's friend; Pipi, became part of the group as well, not long after that Konterto, Onterto's younger cousin, followed.
Then, Bertie, Pipi's cousin, also joined along with little Sophie who just recently moved to the neighborhood in 2010.
Last but not least, Little Dribby and his stuffed animal friend Little Bow that never leaves his side, family of both Onterto and Konterto, made the "Bebe and Friends" family complete.
Except for Bertie, who lives an hour away, all the little friends live on the same block.

These 8 kids and 3 Onster kids, along with Bebe's parents and their pets; Woof Woof and Tjilpy are the complete "Bebe and Friends" family, that will be the permanent faces of the Bebe and Friends line that includes the website, future webshop, artwork, illustrations, canvas series, wooden children's room decorations, wishingcards, future books and much more!

The first character of the Bebe and Friends line, ever created!

Of course it's Bebe! Bebe is a happy joyful 5 year old toddler who puts a smile on everyone's face!

Bebe lives in a city named 'Zaandam' in the northern part of Holland.

Bebe and his family live in a cute typical Zaans house by the water on a dike.

He loves watching the boats sail by from his bedroom window and likes to dress up as a pirate or sailor with his best friend Hank.

Bebe is an active little boy, he loves the outdoors but also enjoys family time at the house.

He is a very protective of his little sisters and although he and Hank like to tease the lil girls all the time, anyone else who does that gets their butts kicked.

Bebe loves to cuddle with mommy and likes to do handyman jobs with his dad.

He has his own little toolbox, something he's very proud of.

Bebe's favorite color is red, his best friend is Hank and Lizzy is his girl friend.

(Dutch name: Bebelien)

Bibi is Bebe's little sister and a handful.

She's the family's little drama queen and loves to be the center of attention.

Bibi has a huge imagination and makes up stories with her sister Soupy all the time.

They also love to dress up in mommy's clothing and put on make up but above all the both of them love making a mess!

Bibi loves to draw and paint and wants to be just like her mommy, who is a children's book illustrator.

Bibi is Soupy's other half and loves to have a sister.

She's a daddy's girl and always wants his attention.

She likes to dress up and has a matching bow with every single one of her outfits.

Her favorite color is pink and she wants the whole world to be pink!

Soupy was adopted by Bebe and Bibi's parents and is originally from The Bahamas.

Her orginal name is Soupy Magdalena but everyone just call's her Soupy.

Soupy is a month older than Bibi and was adopted by Bebe's family.

Soupy and Bibi have became inseparable right from the start and she has been a permanent part of the family ever since.

Soupy is a cheerful little girl who loves to dance, sing and clap her hands all day long.

She makes friends very easily and talks until your ears fall off.

Just like Bibi, also Soupy collects hair bows in every possible color.

Soupy's favorite color is purple.

Bibi and Soupy are always together, they are sisters, best friends and partners in crime...there's always something going on when these two are near...So be prepared!

(Dutch name: Henk)

Hank is Bebe's best friend, they met through a very special project at Bebe's school.

Hank is a little different than the average kids, he is mentally a little behind in some things and sometimes acts a little different...but as Hank himself would say; he's not weird or stupid, he's just special and that's all!

Hank met Bebe when Bebe's school hosted a project for kids like Hank to meet other kids and spend a couple of days at a normal public school, Hank did so well during this project that he now goes to Bebe's school 3 days per week.

Bebe has been accepting Hank just how he is, right from the beginning and the two are best friends ever since, Hank also happened to live on the corner of Bebe's street and so they get to play daily.

Hank is a very funny and honest guy, he's very generous and polite and is always wanting to help others.

Bibi is the love of Hank's life and with Bibi as his girl friend and Bebe as his best friend, Hank spends a lot of time with the Bebe family.

(Dutch name: Liesje)

Lizzy lives around the corner from Bebe, Bibi and Soupy and is not only Bebe's girlfriend but is also in the same class as him and Hank.

She's a very smart and sweet girl.

She loves to play with Bebe and his friends and comes to stay the night often in the weekends, during the week Lizzy is a very busy little girl.

She's not only a hard worker in school, she is also enrolled in dancing school, does gymnastics and volunteers at the children's animal farm together with Bibi where they take care of baby animals.

She's is a polite and nice girl.

Onterto lives between the walls of Bebe's house and has been a part of the family since he was discovered by Bebe and his sisters.

He's in love with Soupy and wants to marry her when he's older in Disney World.
Onterto is also very funny and a big fan of Wall-e, he owns everything you can possibly own of Wall-e...he even has his own custom made Wall-e slippers and is very proud of that.
He loves candy and cookies and is always asking for sweets.
Onterto is very sensitive, don't pick on him to much cause you don't want to make him cry.

Onterto is a very gentle sweet little guy.

(Dutch name: Pientje)

Pipi lives across the street from Bebe, Bibi and Soupy and is from the same age as the two little girls.

She is a very active, chatty, noisy and funny girl who loves to fool around and joke all day long.

She giggles a lot and is all over the place.

But Pipi is not always happy, she has lost her mommy not too long ago and she says her mommy is an Angel now. She talks to her mommy every night before she goes to bed.

Pipi is very strong and a joy to her daddy.

Pipi pretty much follow Bibi and Soupy everywhere they go.

She is the tomboy of the three and loves to be outdoors.

(Dutch name: Kontertje)

Konterto is Onterto's 2 year old cousin, who lives between the walls of the house next to Bebe and Onterto.

She is the cutest Onster girl you have ever met but probably also the most hyper.

She is always busy doing something and has a huge imagination.

She likes to play all day long and she is never bored, mom and dad always have to tell her when it's bedtime because for Konterto there are never enough hours in a day to do everything she wants to do.

She has a little pink bike and loves to ride it everywhere she can, even on the bed.

You can't see it from the outside but Konterto is sick, she has a disease called "the greyness sickness".

All Onsters have their own bright color but Konterto was born grey, which is very rare for an Onster.

This sickness will keep Konterto from growing and from having a real color, she has to go to the Onster hospital monthly to get a little injection so she stays healthy and active.

She will never grow bigger though and will always be grey, but Konterto's mommy paints little Konterto's fur pink every month so she won't feel like she is different from the rest, for special occasions like the holidays Konterto even gets to pick a special holiday color!

(Dutch name: Bertje)

Bertie is Pipi's older cousin, Bertie is one year younger than Bebe.

She lives about an hour away from Bebe and his friends, in a little fishing village by the sea.

Her dad is a fisherman and he owns a large fishers ship.

Bertie and her family go everywhere around the world and live on the ship most of the time.

Bertie's mom is a teacher to all the fisherman kids and Bertie loves to be part of a fisherman's family.

She wants to be just like her daddy when she's older and already knows a lot about fishing and studies all kinds of fish in school.

Bertie is a very adventurous girl and loves to share all her adventures on the ship with her new friends.

She met Bebe and the rest of the kids, while she was staying at Pipi's during a vacation, now she comes over to play and to have sleepovers whenever she and her family are not at sea.

(Dutch name: Sofietje)

Sophie is the newest girl of the Bebe and Friends family, she has just recently moved to the neighborhood and met the little friends because she lost her nanny while doing groceries at the supermarket across the street from Bebe's house and rang Bebe's doorbell crying for her mommy.

While waiting for her nanny that day, she got to play with all the other little girls and kept coming back to play ever since.

Her parents are living a very busy life running their own hotel and Sophie has a nanny who takes care of her at home when both of her parents are at work.

She also often goes to her grandma, Sophie's grandma is a very funny old lady and likes to have Sophie and her friends visiting.

Sophie also has a big fluffy dog named Crook, Crook is almost as big as a pony.

Sophie does miss her parents a lot while they are at work and feels lonely often and that's why she loves to be surrounded by all her new little friends and to get lots of attention.

(Dutch name: Dribbeltje en Strikje)

Dribby is the very newest addition to the Bebe and Friends family.

He is Onterto and Konterto's youngest cousin and he and his family moved out of their old house to live with Onterto and his family.

They could't stay at their old house, because they were discovered by the people who were living there and these people were not so kind as Bebe's family and wanted to catch Dribby and his parents and put them in a little cage. They escaped right in time and have been living with Onterto since then.

Dribby is a very shy boy, it took a while for him to trust Bebe and his family and to come out play.

Now that he knows that Bebe and his family are very kind loving family, he loves to be around and to play with all the kids.

Dribby loves to cuddle and snuggle and prefers to cozy it up indoors, he doesn't like to get dirty and he hates the cold.

He brings his stuffed animal, named "Little Bow" everywhere he goes and thinks she's a talking bunny.

Dribby has a crush on little Sophie.

Mommy of Bebe, Bibi and Soupy and a 2nd mommy for all the other kids.

Mommy is a fun and kind lady who illustrates children's books for a living.

She often works at home, so she also spends a lot of time with the kids.

She loves to do arts and crafts with the kids and take them to the children's library to read them stories.

Bibi and Soupy probably get their huge imagination from mommy, mommy knows to make something exciting out of everything and is the best in telling bedtime stories.

With mommy around things are never boring.

The kids also love to cuddle with mommy and snuggle up on the couch.

Daddy of Bebe, Bibi and Soupy and a 2nd daddy for all the other kids.

Daddy is a funny guy who always makes people laugh.

He is also the kind of guy who is always wanting to help others and next to his real job, he's a handyman and does odd jobs for people all around the neighborhood in his free time.

Daddy is a big example for Bebe and Bebe loves to follow him around with his little toolbox.

He is also very loved by all the little girls.

Daddy owns his own little bakery on walking distance from their house, his bakery is known for it's amazing sweets; cookies, cupcakes, pies, chocolate...you name it, he has it!

On Fridays all the kids get to come by the store and pick out their favorite sweets, no wonder daddy is so popular :)

(Dutch name: Woef Woef)

The family dog, a dachshund, found by Bebe when he was a puppy.

Bebe found Woof Woof while he was playing in the park, they played all day long and when it was time for Bebe to go home, Woof Woof kept following him.

Bebe told Woof Woof to go home...an hour later mommy discovered Woof Woof sitting in front of their door. Guess Woof Woof found his home :)

The next day Bebe and his mommy went looking for Woof Woof's boss but no one showed, so Woof Woof was adopted by Bebe's family and is part of the family ever since.

He's a very goofy and kind dog, who loves all the kids and is best friends with Tjilpy the baby chicken.

(Dutch name: Tjilpje)

The baby house chicken that lives with Bebe and his family.

Just like Woof Woof, Tjilpy was found in the park but not by Bebe this time, Tjilpy was found by Woof Woof.

Tjilpy lost his mommy and was wandering off in the park, when Woof Woof discovered Tjilpy and asked why she was there all alone, Tjilpy told Woof Woof she lost her mommy.
She followed Woof Woof and sat on his head for the rest of the day.

Tjilpy didn't want to leave Woof Woof's head and so Bebe brought back his dog with a little baby chicken on its head.

Another family pet was adopted and Woof Woof and Tjilpy are best buds since then.

Tjilpy follows Woof Woof and the kids everywhere and preferably sits on someones head, she also likes bath time with the girls and to cuddle time in bed.

She's a very spoiled lazy but the cutest chicken you've ever met.

Since the Bebe and friends family has expanded and is now finally complete, it was also time for a completely new banner with all the Bebe and friends kids in it.

This medium Bebe custom made was ordered for a newborn named Marlinde.
The customer who ordered this super cute and girly painting asked me to use the same frame as the frame of the announcement card and to have the newborn's name and birthdate painted on the canvas.
On the canvas there's an illustration of little Bibi having fun in the bath tub with her little friends Tjilpy the baby chicken and Woof Woof the dog.
I used most of the card's original colors and picked girly pastel colors for the illustration to make it one matching piece.

This mini Bebe custom made was ordered for a newborn named Felix.
The customer who ordered this cute painting wanted to have the little guy that was on the birth announcement card and the newborn's name and birthdate painted on the canvas.
To make it a combination, I had Bebe meeting the little guy painted on the canvas.

The Holland theme is very populair lately!
This Bebe custom made canvas was created for my mom, a teacher at a very special middle school.
The school she teaches at, offers education for foreign students to prepare them on going to either a normal Dutch middle school and older kids to go to a normal Dutch highschool.
These foreign students are coming from all over the world, but mainly from third world countries.

My mom wanted a Dutch Bebe canvas for in her classroom.
I used some typical Dutch elements for this painting, such as; a wooden clog, a windmill, the Dutch flag, a cow as how we know them here in Holland; white with black spots, a milk girl and tulips.

I also recently sold a Dutch themed Bebe custom made for one of my mom's ex colleague, who recently moved to Curacao, to teach there.
She also want something typically Dutch for in her classroom, to show to her students.

Newborn custom made's are probably the most requested custom made orders I've been getting lately.
Sometimes customers are asking me to create a combination of my own Bebe illustration and the illustrations of a birth announcement card, but a lot of customers are also asking for something completely unique, especially created for the people they are giving the custom made to.
Customers are always very welcome to give me guidelines of what they would like to see back in the painting I create for them, they can request a special theme, elements or colors.
The customer whom requested this painting had requested a "Holland" theme, because the people she bought this painting for, love everything Holland and named their newborn Tom, which is also a typically Dutch name.

I used some typical Dutch elements for this painting, such as; a wooden clog, a Zaans house(a typical Dutch style in North-Holland) a windmill, the Dutch flag, cheese and the royal color orange. I also had the name Tom shown on the painting.

Our Wedding invite in Bebe Style

Hello everyone!

I got married this past month on july 3rd and it was totally awesome! I got married to my someone who is not just my husband, but also my best friend, other half, partner in crime, soul mate, support, goof ball and just everything that completes me!

Our wedding was definitely the best day of our lives and it was even better than we could've imagined and wished for!

I've designed our own wedding invitation, its shown on the left top of this post.
I designed the invite with my WACOM Bamboo tablet and it's me and Marlo sitting on the top of a hill drawn in Bebe style!
The timeline next to it shows the most important years in our relationship!
and for all the Bebe and friends fans...luckily I met this guy back in 1998 and fell in love with him in 2006 because when I would not have met him...we wouldve never met AGAIN and become a couple and I wouldve never got inspired to create Bebe!

Little Bebe is based on a little toddler version of Marlo.

All the little friends have just been dropped at school by the big yellow schoolbus.
Bebe, Lizzy and Hank are in their last year of elementary school and Bibi, Soupy and Pipi are going to kindergarden.
Soupy is a little scared of all the big kids and big impressions, but luckily she has their friends to comfort her.

It's a beautiful summerday and best friends Bibi and Soupy are having big time fun on the swing in their grandparents backyard.

Bebe and friends canvas: Little sailor

Now that the first two canvas series for the Bebe webshop are finished, it's time to finish up the third series, the "Bebe and friends canvas series".
"Sleep over" was the first piece of this series and "Little sailor" is the second one.

Look at Bebe's cozy and colorful room, Bebe is very proud of his room and calls it his big boy room.
His favorite Disney characters; Phineas en Ferb are hanging on the wall and he also has a big boy's desk where he can make his homework on...but of course Bebe knows much more fun things to do than homework.
Bebe loves boats, his dad made him a real boat bed, how cool is that? Every five year old boy would want a bed like that right?
Bebe and Hank's favorite game is playing sailor and pretending they are far far far away on the sea, and sailing from one adventure into the other.
Bebe even has a real sailors outfit!

The official Bebe webshop will finally be launched in 2011.

I have been very busy creating lots of different Bebe paintings and other Bebe products.
The Bebe canvas series are my most known and populair products in the line and selling them in the private sector has already been keeping me very occupied, next to creating orders for my customers, I have also been very busy with finishing up all four Bebe canvas series that will be available for sale in the upcoming Bebe webshop.

The Bebe season canvas series were the first completed serie, now also the "Bebe goes on World Tour" 2009 canvas series is completely finished and can be added to the webshop stock.
In this series Bebe and his little friends are visiting different countries all over the world and they expierence lots of great adventures that they will never forget.

Bebe goes on World Tour: Holland part 2

This is the very last piece of the "Bebe goes on World Tour" 2009 canvas series...I am ending this wonderful worldseries with the country I've also started with: my homecountry Holland!
I've combined some illustrations of the first Holland piece with totally new illustrations.

You'll see the following famous Holland features in the painting:

1. The cute Zaans house: Zaanstad is a municipality in Holland , in the province of North-Holland. Its main town is Zaandam. It is part of the metropolitan area of Amsterdam. Zaanstad is famous for it's beautiful old Holland scenery, such as windmills, canals, dikes but also the cute green houses named Zaanse houses.
(Bebe and his family also live in one of these cute houses, you can see it in the painting...Bebe loves his home, it's right on a dike by the water and he loves to sit by the windown and watch the boats go by.)

2. the real holland symbol: the clog or also known as the wooden shoe. The traditional all-wooden Dutch clogs have been a real famous feature of Holland. Despite the fact that most Dutch no longer wear clogs for everyday use, clogs remain popular by people working in their gardens, farms and by planters. Today, Dutch clogs are primarily a beloved tourist souvenir.

3. Souses herring, also called Holland's newest: The word 'soused' usually means 'soaked in a mild preserving liquid', and can be used to refer to raw herring in a mild vinegar pickle or the famous Dutch brined herring. The soused herring is an especially mild salt herring, which is made from young immature herrings.
The process of preparing herring (known as "gibbing") was developed in the Middle Ages by the Dutch.
Herrings are caught between the end of May and the beginning of July in the North Sea near Denmark or Norway, before the breeding season starts.
Dutch people love to eat the herring as a snack and eat it with bare hands, picking it up by the herring it's tail...

Bebe goes on World Tour: America 2

This 9th piece of the "Bebe goes on World Tour" 2009 canvas series might seem familiar to you and that's right because it's a 2nd version of the America world piece.
Because a lot of people have already been asking about the America piece, I've decided to make a copy of it.
Of course I did change some details, because the Bebe canvas paintings are known for their orginality and I never give my customers the exact same painting because I want everyone to have an unique painting.

This first America piece was made on a 40 x 40 3D canvas (large), this one was made on the standard Bebe canvas format of 3o x 30.

In this item Bebe and his little friends are visiting my favorite country and 2nd home: The United States of America.

Of course I've added a couple of fun & famous aspects of the country to this canvas:
1. The White house: the official residence and principal workplace of the president of the United States, located in the capitol Washington D.C
(our little friends are posing in front of this beautiful monumental building)

2. The American symbol: the American Eagle
(Woof Woof is enjoying his wonderful view from high above the sky, thanks to the Eagle who's giving him a private tour with Tjilpy on his head)

3. The statue of Liberty: a monument that was presented by the people of France to the United States of America in 1886 to celebrate its centennial. It's standing on Liberty Island in New York Harbor and welcomes visitors, immigrants and returning Americans traveling by ship.
(Bebe is dressed up as the statue of Liberty including crown and torch)

4. American cheerleading: a sport that uses organized routines from elements of tumbling, dance, jumps, cheers and stunting to direct spectators of events to cheer on team sports at games and matches or to compete at cheerleading competitions.
(Bibi and Soupy were extremely excited that they were chosen to be little cheerleaders for this occasion, cheerleading is the ultimate sport for girls!)

5. The all American sweets: cupcakes & icecream
(You'll see these yummy and colorful sweets in Bibi and Soupy's cute dresses)

6. American football: a competitive team sport known for combining strategy with physical play. The objective of the game is to score points by advancing the ball into the opposing team's end zone.
(Although Lizzy is a girl, she's tough enough to be an American footballplayer for one day)

7. The American Cheeseburger
(Hank didn't mind at all to pose with this giant cheeseburger, he didn't mind eating it after posing either, in fact he enjoyed it very very much)

Bebe goes on World Tour: Italy

For this 8th piece of the "Bebe goes on World tour" 2009 canvas series, Bebe and his friends brought a visit to beautiful Italy.

During their trip in Italie, they've seen:
1. The tower of Pisa: is a freestanding bell tower, of the cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa.
(Bebe recognised the tower of Pisa right away when they arrived, not because he had been to Italy before but because one of his favorite games to play at home with his friends is also called the tower of Pisa. In this game you have to try to put as many little toypeople on the miniature wiggling tower, and keeping it from falling over. Bebe loves this game because he always wins.)

2. The famous city Venice: The Province of Venice (Provincia di Venezia) is a province in the Veneto region of the northern Italy. It's capital is the city of Venice.

3. The gondola: is a traditional, flat-bottomed Venetian rowing boat, well suited to the conditions of the Venetian Lagoon. For centuries gondolas were once the chief means of transportation and most common watercraft within Venice. In modern times the iconic boats still have a role in public transport in the city, serving as traghetti (ferries) over the Grand Canal.
The rower of the gondola is called a gondolier.
It's a honor to have this function en to get this job you have to pass quite a difficult exam, lots of people want this job.
(After a day of learning how to row and passing a real "Gondolier for one day" exam, Hank was allowed to row a gondola and brought little Bibi with him. Bibi is enjoying the beautiful view while Hank is doing the hard work.)

4. Spaghetti: Spaghetti is the plural form of the Italian word spaghetto, which is a diminutive of spago, meaning "thin string" or "twine". The word spaghetti can be literally translated as "little lines." Spaghetti is a long, thin cylindrical pasta of Italian origin. A variety of pasta dishes are based on it, from spaghetti with cheese and pepper or garlic and oil to a spaghetti with tomato, meat, and other sauces. Spaghetti is made of semoline or flour and water.
(Bebe and Lizzy are enjoying a delicious plate of spaghetti together, don't they look sweet together, they look just like Lady and tramp.)

5. Pizza: is a world-popular dish of Italian origin, made with an oven-baked, flat, generally round bread that is often covered with tomatoes or a tomato-based sauce and cheese. Other toppings are added according to region, culture, or personal preference. Originating in a part of Italian cuisine , the dish has become popular in many different parts of the world.
(Soupy went to get fresh pizza's for everyone, she's waiting for everyone to arrive but it's taking so long, so she decided to already try a slice of this yummy Italian treat.)

My aunt ordered this cute mini Bebe custom made canvas, for friends of hers that recently got blessed with a little boy named Tijn.
This Bebe custom made is a combination of the Bebe children's illustrations and the illustrations and colors of the original birth announcement card.

This painting was made on a 3D canvas of 20x20 cm

The official Bebe webshop will be launched only a couple of monts from now and so I have been very busy creating lots of different Bebe paintings and other Bebe products.
The Bebe canvas series are my most known and populair products in the line and selling them in the private sector has already been keeping me very occupied, next to creating orders for my customers, I have also been very busy with finishing up all three Bebe canvas series that will be available for sale in the upcoming Bebe webshop.

Bebe Fun in the park - season canvas series: Winter

Winter is the fourth and also the last piece of the "Bebe fun in the park canvas series".
Bebe has taken Bibi and Soupy to the park for a fun sleigh ride in the snow.
Bibi is a bit afraid of falling of the sleigh but little Soupy isn't afraid at all, she is having the best time on the back of the sleigh.
Also Tjilpy enjoys the ride.
Pippi is also in the park but the Bebe and the girls haven't noticed her yet, they will soon enough though... because little naughty Pippi is hiding behind the tree and is throwing snowballs at her friends.
Everyone is dressed well for the winter season, they all have their warm coats, scarfs, mittens and hats on, don't they look cute?

In this third piece of the "Bebe fun in the park series" you'll see Bebe and his friends during the Fall season.
It's a rainy fall day but Bebe, Bibi, Soupy and Bebe's girlfriend Lizzy aren't afraid of a little rain. They have put on their new rain coats and are having fun making their walk through the park.
Tjilpy the house babychicken doesn't like the rain and keeps herself dry under the pretty colored leafs of the tree.
